Buy Nothing Day – A typography project
The Buy Nothing Day posters is a three part poster series advocating a national day of no spending. Targeting the “Black Friday” it’s meant to encourage people to stay home and not contribute to overspending. The challenge in this task was to convey the information with text alone, creating a compelling and easily understood message without the aid of external images.
I used this challenge to create an image with pure typography. Not only does the shape convey the message but the words and even the letter forms speak to the message of spending and consumerism.
